New prospects for economic cooperation between Poland and Cambodia

Iwona Kmiecik and the Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Manet in conversation at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh

On 19 October 2026, my official meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, took place at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. We talked about the further growth of IM Capital Holding’s investments and initiatives strengthening economic cooperation between Poland and Cambodia.

Investment growth and new directions

During the meeting I presented plans for the further expansion of IM Capital Holding in Cambodia, covering the hotel and real estate sectors and extending our activity to further strategic tourism regions of the country.

I emphasised the importance of stability, security and a favourable investment environment for the development of long-term ventures. I also thanked the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the relevant institutions for the cooperation and support of the projects carried out so far.

Prime Minister Hun Manet presented the prospects for the development of Cambodian tourism, drawing particular attention to its cultural and natural potential and to the administration’s measures supporting international investors.

He also encouraged IM Capital Holding to develop tourism projects reaching beyond the islands and coastal regions.

Strengthening economic cooperation between Poland and Cambodia

An important part of the conversation concerned initiatives aimed at deepening relations between the business communities of both countries.

In view of the growing interest of Polish entrepreneurs in the Cambodian market, I presented a proposal to organise a Polish-Cambodian Business Forum and to establish a Polish-Cambodian Chamber of Commerce.

The Prime Minister responded positively to the efforts made so far to develop business and tourism contacts between our countries. He also welcomed the plans for a visit of a Polish business delegation to Cambodia.

He pointed to the importance of further cooperation with state institutions, in particular the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), the Ministry of Tourism and the Cambodia Tourism Board, in order to translate the presented initiatives into concrete action.

Long-term commitment to Cambodia’s development

The meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet is an important stage in the implementation of IM Capital Holding’s strategy and in the development of Polish-Cambodian economic relations.

As CEO & Founder of IM Capital Holding, an investor and a citizen of Cambodia, I have for years been involved in ventures supporting the country’s development and building international partnerships.

I would like to thank the Prime Minister for the reception, the constructive conversation and the openness to the initiatives presented.

Cambodia is my home. Its development remains both a personal commitment and a long-term direction of my business activity.
